"Wow and flutter" refers to variations in playback speed, typically caused by age or wear. This unit has very little wow and flutter, as all potential causes (such as dirty or dry moving parts, worn belts, dirty capstan, and pinch rollers) have been thoroughly inspected and addressed during refurbishment.
It is important to note that every tape player experiences some degree of wow and flutter, as no unit is completely immune. The amount can vary based on the condition of the tape and the quality of the cassette. For best results, I recommend performing a full rewind and fast-forward on older tapes before playing them.
